Rakhee, the philanthropist artist

Rakhee Shah wants to reach out to the people through her paintings and provide help for various causes, which she has been a part of for more than two decades. As a part of her endeavour, Rakhee has donated 605 paintings around the world and to 116 hospitals and cancer centres globally. In India, the recipients of Rakhee’s generous gestures have been hospitals like Tata Memorial Hospital, Lilavati Hospital, Breach Candy Hospital, Jaslok Hospital, Hinduja Hospital, Global Hospitals, SRCC Children’s Hospital, to name a few in Mumbai. Apart from this, Rakhee has also donated her paintings to countries like UK, USA, Canada, Chicago, Belgium, New Zealand, France, etc. Rakhee was invited by the Consulate of Luxembourg for an event and met up with the Deputy Prime Minister of Luxembourg and the Ambassador of Luxembourg in March 2016. Rakhee participated in the St Gemma’s Hospice art exhibition cum auction in October 2014. Celebrities such as Sir Ian McKellen, British Prime Minister – David Cameron, Sir Ben Kingsley, actors, actresses, singers and many more also participated for this auction. Rakhee Shah has had up to nearly 50 exhibitions till now, mostly in London and some in Mumbai. Rakhee’s paintings are unique in their style of execution as they represent more of architectural work on canvas, her collection spanning 26 years. Apart from specialising in oil painting on canvas, Rakhee has constantly had the urge to use various media and multiple subjects.
