Havells posts Q1 net profit at Rs 210 cr

Consumer electrical goods maker Havells India on Friday reported a standalone net profit at Rs 210.40 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2018 of this fiscal.

The company had posted a net profit at Rs 121.38 crore during the April-June quarter of the previous fiscal, Havells India said.

Total income during the quarter under review stood at Rs 2,625.56 crore. It was Rs 2017.04 crore in the year-ago period.

Havells India Chairman and MD Anil Rai Gupta said: "Havells has registered growth across verticals which is gratifying and encouragin­g."

The company's total expenses during the period stood at Rs 2,321.68 crore.

Meanwhile, the company informed that its results are not comparable with previous period as it had acquired consumer durable business of LEEL Electrical­s in May last year.

"Figures for quarter ending June 30, 2017 includes business of Lloyd Consumer Division starting from May 8, 2017, hence not comparable with quarter ended June 30, 2018 to that extent," the company said.

Revenue from switchgear division stood at Rs 404.10 crore. It was Rs 355.70 crore in the first quarter of the financial year 2017-18.

The revenue of cable division stood at Rs 749.93 crore. It was Rs 719.57 crore in the correspond­ing quarter of the last year, the company said.
