Singing like the proverbial canary in the coal mine, Mikhail Bora on Tuesday continued to nail his “maa” Indrani Mukherjea, the prime accused in the Sheena Bora murder case.

For the second consecutive day, Mikhail deposed before a special CBI court apprising it with the alleged ‘conspiracy’ hatched by Indrani, to eliminate him on April 24, 2012. He recounted the sequence of events which occurred on that ‘fateful’ day, on which Sheena is alleged to have been killed by Indrani, her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna and her driver Shyamvar Rai.

Having stepped into the witness box, Mikhail described what occurred on April 24, 2012, when he had landed in Mumbai, as per the instructions of his ‘maa’ Indrani.

“As per the instructions from Indrani I came to Mumbai on the night of April 24, 2012. I had to take a cab as driver Rai was busy somewhere else. Even Indrani was busy in some meeting, so I alone went to Marlow building in Worli, as instructed, and entered room no. 18 of the building, which was already open. There, I was informed by a lady the room was rented by Indrani and I went upstairs towards the flat in which Indrani was staying,” Mikhail said.

“While I walked upstairs, Indrani came and hugged me. She was carrying a bottle of water. She guided me to the room, where after a brief conversation, she insisted I drink some beer. I have been consuming alcohol for several years but that night, for the very first time after having some of it, I was sweating and felt giddy but Indrani kept insisting I drink more. I threw up as I was not feeling well,” Mikhail told the court.

Mikhail further told special Judge J C Jagdale, during all this ‘insistence’ Sanjeev Khanna and driver Rai were also present in the same room.

“Soon, the trio – Rai, Khanna and Indrani started discussing something, which I could not hear because I was not feeling well after the drinks. After noticing their conduct, I sensed something foul and recalled the horrific treatment meted out to me at Masina Hospital, where Indrani had got me admitted after I consumed tequila at Khanna’s insistence,” Mikhail added.

Supporting the CBI’s case, Mikhail further informed the court that during all this, Indrani literally forced him to sleep. “Before stepping out of the room, Indrani had specifically asked me not to bolt the door and instead, sleep. I was suspicious and sensed that she, along with Khanna and Rai could harm me. So, I locked the door from inside and did not sleep till the morning,” Mikhail said.

The next morning, according to Mikhail, he came out of the room and carefully left the Marlow building without being noticed.
