Ulhasnagar’s Hill Line police have finally solved the case of the 11-year-old boy’s murder case after arresting a 22-yearold man on Thursday. The arrested accused have been identified as Aslam Ansari, who worked at a jeans factory where the deceased father and mother also worked.

On July 16, 11-year-old Harsh Ganesh Alhad was found dead with his throat slit by a sharp knife in a room close to the jeans factory. The police said that during interrogation Aslam revealed the cause of killing Harsh. “Harsh went out to play on that fateful day, where he spotted Aslam in a compromising position with an 18-year-old girl, who resided at the Jai Janta colony, Manere village, Ulhasnagar. Aslam feared Harsh would reveal it to his parents. In order to avoid this, Aslam planned to kill him in a room,” SPI Ghanshyam Palange from Hill Line police station said.

He added, “We went through the CCTV footage installed at a nearby locality in which we found Aslam roaming with the boy. We also received an information from informers that he fled away from the city and stayed at Nepal border. Immediately we informed this to our superior DCP Ankit Goel, who instructed us to form three team in which one was sent to Nepal border and arrested him. He was produced in court and remanded in police custody till July 30.”
