Good governance is our birth right and we’ll have it: Modi
After call for self-rule, it is time to ask for good governance, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday.
Referring to the slogan 'swaraj (self-rule) is my birth right and I shall have it' given by freedom fighter Bal Gangadhar Tilak, he said, "Today is the time to say that good governance is our birth right and we will have it..."
“Every Indian should have access to good governance and positive results of development. It is the factoring in of this outreach that will create a new India,” Modi said.
The NDA govt has been pushing for good governance by easing rules and repealing obsolete laws. He referred to the contribution of Tilak, Vallabh Bhai Patel and Chandra Shekar ‘Azad’ in freedom struggle in his monthly 'Mann ki Baat' radio address.

Eco‐friendly Ganesh fest
Modi once again urged people to use eco-friendly material for the Ganesh Utsav celebrations. "Right from Ganesh idol to all decorative material everything ought to be eco friendly and I will appreciate that separate competitions be organised in each city, prizes be awarded for these; and I will like that ecofriendly items related to Ganesh Utsav are displayed for wider publicity on My Gov and Narendra Modi App," he said.
‘Be calm & enjoy life’
There is no alternative to books and studies, but students should be calm, enjoy life and seek inner happiness – this was PM’s message to students who entered colleges and institutions of higher studies. “All I would like to say to you is ‘Be calm, enjoy life, seek inner happiness in life. There is no alternative to books, one has to study, yet one's bent of mind should be towards discovering new things,” he said.

Indians abroad are still emotionally attached to their ancestral village, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday citing the example of two Indian IT professionals in the US who have developed the 'SmartGaon' mobile app that connects the village internally and with the wider world.
