3 held for stealing mobiles from portal’s warehouse

Three delivery boys arrested by Crime Branch unit 9 for allegedly stealing mobile phone parcels among other packets along with a motorbike from Bandra and Goregaon. The Crime Branch officials acted on a tipoff and arrested three youths identified as Raheem Shaikh (24), Karan Ghadigaonkar (23) and Vishal Kale (22) from their residential area in Bandra late on Saturday. The officials also seized a motorbike with the number MH-02-DB2701 from the three accused during the arrest, which was stolen from Goregaon west over a week ago. During the questioning, it was revealed that the three accused had also stolen many items from the Goregaon-based warehouses of two leading online portals when they were employed with the respective portal companies. A police official said on the condition of anonymity, “The three accused used to steal packed items containing mostly mobile phones and other items from the warehouse in Goregaon East, as they knew the premises inside out due to their employment with the companies.” The accused have been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code that pertains to stealing, housebreaking, trespassing and common intention, which are registered in Goregaon as well as Dindoshi police station.
The accused will be handed over to the respective police stations after their interrogation is over. The police will be scouring through the three accused's residences they frequented to get their hands on the stolen items.
