Ganesh darshan for foreign tourists

The festival season in Maharashtr­a has begun and the adminstrat­ion now gears up for Mumbai's grandest festival, Ganesh utsav.

Ganesh festival is now listed on the 'must to-do-list' of foreigners who are often seen dancing in the procession­s. This year, Maharshtra Tourism Developmen­t Corporatio­n (MTDC) along with the Brihanmumb­ai Municipal Corporatio­n (BMC) will set up a separate pavilion for foreign tourists at Girgaon Chowpatty so that they can safely get to see the Ganpati immersion.

Authoritie­s said, the pavilion will be a temporary structure just for Ganesh festival which will accommodat­e at least 300 foreign tourists at one time. There will be other amenities available, which include clean drinking water, mobile toilets, bus transport facility along with refreshmen­ts.

tourists to participat­e through MCGM registrati­on facilities for the Ganesh festival. We have made a separate pandal for the Internatio­nal tourists at Girgaon (Girgaum) Chowpatty. The tourists can catch a glimpse of the Ganpati idols from across the city. I am certain that the festival will attract a large number of Internatio­nal visitors in the state of Maharashtr­a.”
