Three nabbed from Delhi for technician’s murder in Dadar
The Mumbai crime branch arrested three persons on Sunday night for killing Manoj Maurya (35), who worked as a repair and maintenance technician for weighing machines. The motive behind the murder is enmity between the prime accused and the victim. Manoj’s wife used to work with the prime accused from 2015 to 2017. Thereafter, Manoj and the accused had a fight and they had fallen apart. Later, the accused murdered Manoj on Friday.
The mastermind, Radhakrishna Mundrika Kushwaha (37), Rajendra Amarsingh Aherwar (30) and Hemendra Brisban Kushwaha (19) were arrested from Delhi on Sunday night. Radhakrishna had given `50,000 each to Rajendra and Hemendra for conducting a recce. After the murder, the accused boarded Paschim Express from Dadar and via Amritsar, they went to Delhi. The trio have been booked for murder under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code and possessing arms (Sections 3, 25 and 28) of the Arms Act.
Hemendra was given `5,000 to purchase a pistol from Delhi. On October 9, Hemendra and Rajendra came to Mumbai. According to Dilip Sawant, Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime branch), “It was a preplanned murder. Rajendra Aherwar and Hemandra Kushwaha recceed the area for five months. They watched routine and movements of Manoj. They stayed at a rented flat in Mumbai. Rajendra and Hemendra followed Manoj on the fateful morning on Friday opposite Mhatre Pen Co-operative Housing society. Hemendra fired several rounds at Manoj. The murder weapon is yet to be recovered. It is suspected that Hemendra has a criminal background.”
Manoj’s wife Bhavna (28) worked with the accused Radhakrishna at a diesel booster trading company from 2015 until 2017 in Delhi. Since a fight ensued between Manoj and the accused Radhakrishna, Manoj moved back to Mumbai, along with his wife, at their residence at Sai Siddhi building, Bhavani Shankar road in Dadar.
The three accused have been remanded in police custody until October 24. Radhakrishna is a resident of flat number 141, Laxmi Park at Nilothi, Delhi. Rajendra and Hemendra were unemployed. They are residents of Delhi and natives of Mokhari at Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh.
