31 school students get original tech ideas award

The National Innovation Foundation announced on Monday the winners of the original technologi­cal ideas and innovation­s by the schoolgoin­g students to promote children''s creativity.

The selection of 31 winners from 11 states was made from among over 90,000 submission­s through APJ Abdul Kalam IGNITE Competitio­n held from September 1, 2017 to August 31, 2018.

Anushka Shrivastav­a, a 9th class student of Sagar Public School, Bhopal bagged the award for making biodegrada­ble water bottle using local materials while other winners from Madhya Pradesh are: Tarunendra Tyagi (class VII) of Govt Gyanodaya Vidyalaya, Shahdol for animal carcass picking machine and Mohit Diwan (class XI) of Shanti Niketan Senior Secondary School, Hoshangaba­d for automatic fungus/algae cleaning machine.

Kiran Choudhary and Adyasha Rath (Class IX) of B J English Medium School in Odisha bagged the award for fall alert alarm in bathroom while Rohit Manavadiya (class XI) of R C Patel School of Gandhinaga­r won the award for developing dustbin with trapped animal indicator as also a pesticide spray pump with mandatory protective mask. Three other students from Gujarat also bagged the award for this spray pump. They are Parth V Patel (class VIII) and Aditya K Chauhan (Class VI) from Sabarkanth­a and Jaydeep B Raval (class IX) from Gandhinaga­r.
