- FPJ POLITICAL BUREAU /

The Maratha Kranti Morcha (MKM) has threatened to intensify their protests demanding reservations for Maratha community by November 15. They have threatened, if this deadline is not met with, thousands will gherao the Vidhan Bhavan on November 26, during the winter session in Mumbai.

A meeting of the core committee of MKM was held at YB Chavan auditorium on Wednesday, during which a 10-day outreach programme was finalised which will be launched on November 16. The programme, Samvaad Yatra, will be taken out in each revenue division of the state.

"The main aim of MKM agitation is to help get jobs on quota and seats in educational institutions. The Morcha will take out this yatra to communicate with the community, urging them to dissuade Maratha youth from taking drastic step like suicide," Sanjiv Bhor-Patil, a member of the core committee told reporters after the meeting.

Bhor-Patil said it will be a yatra on motorcycles and would culminate at the state Legislature building on November 26, during the winter session.

The outfit dismisses claims of split in their agitation and accuses govt of divide and rule policy

He dismissed claims of split in their agitation. "We are very much united," said Bhor-Patil. He further accused the government of divide and rule policy, to thwart their campaign.

MKM has taken all precautions to ensure there are no attempts to damage their morcha this time round. "We have formed two committees--statelevel core and co-ordination, to foil any such attempt of dividing it," he added. The committee also said that the agitation would be carried out in democratic manner.
