Chouhan's bro-in-law joins Cong, says MP needs Kamal not Shivraj

- OUR STAFF REPORTER /

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has received a jolt from his kin prior to the Assembly elections. Congress state president Kamal Nath, during election time, has managed to cut holes in the wall of CM's house. Sanjay Singh Masani, brother-in-law of Chouhan, joined Congress on Saturday. He took membership of Congress in the presence of Nath and MP Jyotiraditya Scindia.

Masani, after joining the Congress, said Madhya Pradesh now wants Kamal Nath and not Shivraj. Masani said 13 years has been a long time. He claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the BJP believed in ''doers'' but there was just opposite in reality. He claimed that the candidates'' list released by the BJP figures those who are not ''doers'' but merely big names. The list is full of names of powerful families instead of common workers.

Masani further said that he may be a relative of the CM but does not belong to his family. He said their ''Gotra'' is also different. Masani said Nath would take the state forward on the lines of development model executed in Chhindwara.

Masani was seeking ticket from BJP from Varaseoni seat of Balaghat. When he did not get ticket on Friday, he joined the Congress.

Sources said that the Congress would field him from Varaseoni. There were speculations over Masani joining Congress earlier.

Masani had met former leader of opposition, Jamuna Devi prior to 2008 Assembly elections but his entry into the Congress was somehow stalled then.

Sanjay Singh, after Chouhan becoming the CM, came into limelight. He hogged limelight for his working in films and his activities in the government.
