A video of state Congress president Kamal Nath purportedly saying, “I don't care who has four criminal cases against him. He may even have five cases. I only need candidates who can win,” went viral on social media on Saturday. Reaction from Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was swift and sarcastic. “Congress ka Haath Apradhiyo Ke Saath,” he tweeted.

As the election fever is rising, videos and audios are getting viral on social media with every passing day. A few days back a video of agriculture minister Gourishankar Bisen purportedly saying “If I want to become Union Agriculture minister, I will pay Rs 100 crore and I get the post,” too had gone viral. Nath's video is the latest in the series. The clip is of a meeting where in Nath is heard stating that the Congress needs candidates who can win irrespective of criminal cases registered against him.

CM Chouhan took Congress to cleaners over the alleged video and tweeted: “People of the state

are intelligent. They will decide whom to vote on November 28.”

Congress spokesperson Narendra Saluja termed the video as fake. He accused the CM and the BJP of releasing fake videos of party leaders. “They are trying to taint Nath's image. We condemn it,” he said and claimed, “CM is posting fake videos on his official twitter account as he is frustrated over his brother-in-law Sanjay Singh joining the Congress.”

He further said that the party would file a complaint with the Election Commission of India in this regard and also with the cyber police.
