30-year-old bizman hangs self at Masjid Bunder house

A 30-year-old businessma­n hanged himself at his residence in Masjid Bunder. The police suspect the incident happened two days ago since the body was decomposed.

According to police, Sohail Limbuwala hanged himself from a ceiling fan when he was alone at his residence at Sai Manzil, Yusuf Meher Ali road. His body was found at 2.30pm on Monday. His wife and two children were away at their native place.

Police said Sohail’s wife had been trying to reach Sohail for the past two days, but in vain. The neighbours approached the police after a foul stench emanated from his house. The door was locked from inside.

Avinash Kanade, senior inspector, Pydhonie police said, “The body was found in a decomposed state at his residence on Monday afternoon. We have not recovered any suicide note. Prima facie, it appears he hanged himself two days ago. The reason behind the death is yet to be establishe­d.”

“We suspect he took the extreme step due to financial or personal problems within the family. We are yet to record the statements of the family and the neighbours,” he added. The body was taken to Jamsetjee Jeejeebhoy Hospital. Sohail owns a garment shop at Masjid Bunder. The police filed an Accidental Death Record (ADR).
