MbPT’s watch tower will soon have light and sound show

The suggestion to have light and sound show has been made by Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari himself and expressed about his plan and vision during the inauguration ceremony of two new floating restaurants Queenslines Sea Ya and Neverland in Mumbai on Saturday

The Mumbai Port Trust (MbPT) is taking several projects to encourage tourism at the seafront in the east coast of the island city. In the lastest development, the authority is planning to use the revamped heritage tide metre tower also called as watch tower for light and sound show, which will display the vast ancient history of Mumbai, for instance, about its ports, Bollywood life, mills among a few. The suggestion to have light and sound show has been made by Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari himself and expressed about his plan and vision during the inauguration ceremony of two new floating restaurants Queenslines Sea Ya and Neverland in Mumbai on Saturday.

Journal the minister himself has given a go ahead to the idea. It will attract more tourist and boost tourism in the city.

“The heritage tower has three floors and on each floors painting, carvings and other creative work will be displayed. The tourist during the visit can know about the history through light and sound show especially during day time. Also we are planning to utilise the outer area of the tower adjacent to the seafront for light and sound show during night. We will soon prepare a plan and present it before the minister,” said Bhatia.

MbPT is developing the east coast of Mumbai seafront in two phases. The 1.2 km seafront was thrown open during the inauguration of domestic cruise terminal earlier in October this year. As part of the project it will also make skating rinks and walkway for the visitors.
