Cong formed Telangana without caring for political loss: Sonia

UPA chairperso­n Sonia Gandhi on Friday asserted it was the Congress which formed the State of Telangana despite the political loss which the party had to face due to this decision.

At the first public rally after the formation of Telangana, at Medchal on outskirts of Hyderabad, she targeted the incumbent Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) regime alleging it has done nothing substantia­l for the state and its leaders have filled own pockets. “It is really unfortunat­e soon after its formation, the state landed into the hands of those who cared only about themselves and their close aides. Telangana has not progressed in the manner it should have,” said Sonia.

She added the Congress simultaneo­usly cared for the sentiments of people of Andhra and is still committed to giving the state the special status it deserves. KCR-led TRS govt has ruined the state and has stopped all the popular schemes of Congress govt, including MNREGA.
