Flexi weekend

Actors or cinema folks do not have a concept of a weekend. If it is an off day that’s the weekend for us. Sometimes, it happens that you are home on a weekday because it is not like you are working in a corporate office and you know you have your weekends off. Sometimes, we don’t have days off for long when we are on a schedule and it goes on and on. Then there are times when you are home two weeks in a row. I only look forward to working on a Sunday because it is the day when you have less traffic. It’s not like my kids are in school and I’ll get to see them over the weekend. They are doing the same kind of thing so it doesn’t matter whether it’s a Saturday or a Sunday. They might have a day off on the same day, who knows, right? Hence, we have schedules; not weekdays.

Whim getaways

We do go on short trips whenever we get time. We just get up and spontaneously get lost. Sitting in a car and driving… that also feels good. Four to five people sit in one car and go off. The driver cannot be on his phone and if one out of five is not on the phone he can complain that if I’m not, you got no right to be on the phone either! It’s just a few hours’ drive to Pune, which is great. Spend some time at your relative’s house, have dinner and come back.

Resting phase

There is no hobby or sport at the moment that I catch up on during weekends or in my spare time. I have been suffering from a slipped disc since the past four months and I was also in bed for six weeks. About two weeks ago, I also had a little bit of an event…meaning, it relapsed. So, there’s no question of playing sports.

Grand bonding

If I’m going to be home on a weekend then I’m always coordinating with my son and daughter-in-law about when I am going to see my grandson. It’s going to get worse when he formally starts going to school. So, I’m making sure that if at all I’m home on a Sunday I get to spend time with my grandson – that’s the whole idea of my ideal weekend.
