Justice delayed is justice denied

- FPJ NEWS SERVICE / Nagpur

There is a concerted RSS move to mount pressure on the judiciary to expedite the Ayodhya case and take the heat of the BJP government at the Centre.

This indication came from none other than RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat when he said while addressing a 'hunkar sabha' in Nagpur that delaying the temple is akin to delaying justice.

"The matter is in court, the decision should be given at the earliest. It has also been proved that the temple was there. The Supreme Court is not giving priority to the case. Justice delayed is justice denied," he pointed out.

Political observers see in the statement a clear attempt to deflect the flak from the BJP, which has been put in the pillory by right wing groups for dragging its feet on the Ram Temple.

So, Bhagwat was rather muted in demanding, unlike the other right wing groups, that the Modi government should pass a law or promulgate an Ordinance at the earliest.

Instead, he linked the Temple to the alacrity with which the courts facilitate the same, treating it almost like a fait accompli. So, the BJP government should bring in a law for the same only if the matter was not a priority for the judiciary, he explained. He also put the matter in the people’s court by asking them to stand up on the issue. The judiciary is clearly in the line of fire.
