CM has no time to put up Dr Ambedkar’s oil painting: NCP
On Constitution day, the leader of Opposition, Dhananjay Munde questioned Devendra Fadnavisled government of not putting up the oil painting of Dr Babasaheb Ambedlkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution. He demanded a reply from Fadnavis. “The Chief Minister had promised a year ago to put up this painting. On this day, it is shameful we still do not have Dr Ambedkar’s painting on the walls of Mantralay. Does Fadnavis have no time to fulfil this promise?” questioned Munde. The Chairman of the Legislative Council, Ramraje Nimbalkar moved a motion to pay respects to Dr Ambedkar on Constitution day.
While speaking on this occasion, Munde reminded the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government of this breach of promise. He also fondly remembered the architect of the Indian Constitution. Munde also questioned the government for its failure in putting up a farmed copy of the preamble of the Constitution.
“The building which has the seat of power, in that administrative place, it would be appropriate to have on display a painting of our founder of the constitution and its preamble,” said Munde. Munde added, Monday was an important day and it would have been ideal to have put up the two.
