Chitrangada Singh not only has a distinctive name, she also has a distinctive style of dressing. The actress, who was seen recently in Baazaar, shares her fashion, make-up and hair fundas. My favourite outfit: Dresses in very classic cuts and jeans and muslin white shirts My favourite outfit when I am driving to a shoot: Jeans and tees.

My favourite outfit for a formal occasion: Nice clingy gown or a sari.

I like to sleep in: Soft pyjamas.

My favourite brands in clothes: For regular wear I like Zara, the jeans and the more formal shirts. The kind of stuff that I can’t afford would be Roberto Cavalli. The gowns, the dresses are just amazing. Armani Exchange is always good for slightly higher end of casual wear especially their jackets. In Indian, I like Sabyasachi.

My favourite colours are: Black, white, bottle green and aqua blue.

My favourite fabrics are: Stretch satin, cotton and linen.

My favourite brand in jeans: Massimo Dutti. I have a fetish for: Bags and dresses. I like Burberrry and Salvatore Ferragamo.

My wardrobe is incomplete without: A white shirt.

I look best in: Jeans and a white shirt.

I would like my man to be dressed in: Casuals definitely blue jeans, a white muslin shirt. It sticks to your body and looks great. The best dressed men and women in the industry are: Malaika Arora, she is very classy always. In men, Shah Rukh dresses really well and so does Saif. He looks very stylish in a suit.

My favourite brand in sunglasses is: Giorgio Armani.

My favourite perfume: Pleasures by Estelle Ardour My handbag always has: A Nokia cell phone, my wallet, chewing gum, hand cream, lip balm, sun glasses, I also carry my vitamins when I am travelling overnight and a stick. My wallet has my credit cards. It also has my pan card, my licence. I also keep cuttings of an address of a spa or a dance class. My shampoo and conditioner: I keep changing a lot. I used Freda. I like Paul Mitchel a lot, I had a daily shampoo that was very good, very mild. I like Body Shop metal shampoo.

My hairstylist: I have been to Dilshad in Mumbai and also Hakim’s Aalim.

I admire the hair of: Dimple Kapadia and Shah Rukh. My haircare routine comprises: One thing I swear by and which I do once every two weeks is apply eggs and besan. I oil my hair, overnight once a week. I mix the besan and the eggs and make a thick paste. After applying it I don’t let it dry completely. I keep it for an hour and then wash it. I don’t do it every week as it’s strong. One must definitely oil one’s hair before one applies besan as it is a very dry ingredient. When I am not shooting: I apply kajal and a transparent lip gloss; that’s it.

My favourite shades and brands in make-up are: In lip gloss MAC has this colour called Revealing that would be my favourite for lips and there is Make-Forever blush.

The features I like to highlight when doing makeup are: I think Indian women should definitely highlight their eyes.

My tip on clothes: One shouldn’t wear tight clothes. A tight tee shirt over a pair of tight pair of jeans is definitely not happening, one of the two has to be loose. I have seen a lot of Indians wear tight jeans with a tight T-shirt — it looks horrible.

My tip on hair care: Keep your hair clean, shampoo it regularly. Lots of people think let the body oils do their job and they do not wash their hair often but you must wash your hair at least two to three times in a week.
