Shastri has a ball with words

-

Team India coach Ravi Shastri seems to be euphoric over the Indian victory, for which he has done little, and appeared to go bonkers with his uncalled for comments in Adelaide on Monday.

Possibly, he had one of those brain-fade moments and forgot that he is representing the country too and not just himself.

First, he commented about the palpably tense moments, when asked on TV about the tension in the dressing room while the last Australian partnership was going strong.

"I said in Hindi just a little while ago bilkul chhorenge nahin... Lekin thodi der ke liye wahan g*** muh mein tha (we will go for the kill ... but for some time we had our balls in our mouths)."

This brought the spotlight of the social media on the unparliamentarily words.

One of the tweets read: "Did Ravi Shastri just say 'thodi der ke liye G*** Muh mei tha' on national TV? Oh, yes, he did," wrote Abijit Ganguly on Twitter.

"Ravi Shastri the real Man of the Match #goti," read another post.

#TeamIndia wins in Australia and only thing I remember from the post-match interview is @RaviShastri saying, “Thodi der ke liye Goti muh mein tha…” Even by Ravi Shastri’s tracer bullet one liner standards, this is just too much!! :) It will be interesting to watch whether the BCCI will take action against Shastri, the way it punishes players for bad mouthing in their interviews. He might be paranoid or unbalanced while making comments but he shouldn't forget that the entire country is watching him live. Also, there will be fathers in India who must be having trouble explaining to their children about which ball was the Indian coach talking about.
