Shai Hope smashed a brilliant century as West Indies edged Bangladesh by four wickets in the second ODI to level the three-match series 1-1 in Dhaka on Tuesday.

Opener Hope hit an unbeaten 146 off 144 balls, guiding West Indies to 256-6 in 49.4 overs after the visitors relied on three wickets from paceman Oshane Thomas to restrict Bangladesh to 255-7 in 50 overs.

Hope shared 71-run in an unbroken seventh wicket stand with Keemo Paul to help West Indies get their first victory on the tour and stay alive in the series after they suffered a five-wicket loss in the opening match on Sunday. Paul, who remained unbeaten on 18, pushed spinner Mahmudullah towards midwicket to complete the victory. Hope hit 12 fours and three sixes. Rubel Hossain and Mustafizur claimed two wickets each.

Shakib Al Hasan (65), Mushfiqur Rahim (62) and Tamim Iqbal (50) earlier each scored a half-century to steer Bangladesh to a decent total. Punjab teammates Anmolpreet Singh and Siddharth Kaul led India ‘A’ to a 3-0 whitewash of New Zealand after a 75-run victory in the third and final unofficial ODI here on Tuesday.

Getting his maiden opportunity, Anmolpreet struck 71 off 80 balls at the top of the order to help India ‘A’ post 275 for eight in 50 overs. His opening partner Ishan Kishan made 39 while Ankit Bawne and Vijay Shankar scored 48 and 42 respectively.

However, New Zealand ‘A’ never got going in the chase and folded for 200 in 44.2 overs. Kaul was India A’s standout bowler, ending with figures of four wickets for 37 runs in seven overs.
