- STAFF REPORTER / Mumbai

Commuters on Central Railway’s main line can heave a sigh of relief as there will be no mega block on on Sunday. However, a mega block will be observed between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and ChunabhattiBandra on the Harbour line.

A jumbo block will also be carried out on Western line between Santacruz and Goregaon stations from 10.35 am to 3.35pm for maintenance work of tracks, signalling and overhead equipment.

During the jumbo block on Western Railway (WR) between Santacruz and Goregaon, all slow line trains will be diverted on to the fast track between the two stations, which may result in the cancellation of a few trains on both fast and slow line. "The jumbo block will also cause a delay of 15-20 minutes on all railway stations, commuters have been asked to plan their journey accordingly," said AK Gupta, General Manager of WR.

The mega block on Harbour line will be functional from 11.30 am till 5 pm on Sunday to carry out maintenance work of the tracks. The mega block would affect services running between Panvel and CSMT, Bandra and CSMT as the services will remain suspended. For the commuters’ convenience, special services will run between Panvel and Kurla (Platform No.8) during the block period and Harbour line passengers will be allowed to travel on main line and on western railway during the block.

While on the other hand, as CR has refrained itself from mega block this Sunday, a special traffic and power block will be carried out between Kalyan and Titwala from 10.45am till 2pm.
