Weapon-laden car: 1 killed in police firing
MUMBAI: An unidentified person was killed in retaliatory police firing when he and his associates allegedly attacked the personnel for intercepting their car laden with weapons in Solapur in the wee hours of Sunday, an official said. Three policemen also received injuries in the attack by the occupants of the four-wheeler, he said. Solapur taluka police station in-charge Vijay Patil and three other cops were on night patrol when they intercepted the vehicle, in which 4-5 people were travelling, on suspicion at 3.30 am in Ulegaon, around 400 km from Mumbai, he said. The team found some weapons such as swords and choppers in the vehicle, the official said.
