Kolse-Patil to contest from Aurangabad
Retired justice and one of the organisers of Elagar Parishad, BG Kolse-Patil will contest the Lok Sabha polls from Aurangabad constituency. Prakash Ambedkar, convenor of Bahujan Vanchit Aghadi has announced candidature of Kolse-Patil along with other four names on Sunday in Parbhani.
Bombay High Court Justice (retired) Kolse-Patil was one of the organisers of Elgar Parishad, which was linked with the Bhima-Koregaon riot. He will be the candidate of Bahujan Vanchit Aghadi, an umbrella of Bharip Bahujan Mahasangh and All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (AIMIM).
Ambedkar, while addressing the rally in Parbhani on Sunday, announced the candidature of Prof Vishnu Jadhav for Beed LS seat, Arjun Salgar for Osmanabad, Dr Sharad Wankhede for Jalna seat apart from Kolse-Patil.
Ambedkar had already announced the candidature of sitting BBM legislator Baliram Tiraskar from Buldhana, Gunwant Deopare from Amravati, Prof Yashpal Bhinge from Nanded, Prof Praveen Pawar from YavatmalWashim and Advocate Vijay More from Madha in Solapur district. Ambedkar said that he will announce the name of party candidate for Parbhani and Hingoli on February 23.
Nationalist Congress Party leader Chhagan Bhujbal and Congress leader Manikrao Thakre tried to convince Ambedkar to join the Mahagathbandhan in Maharashtra. However, Ambedkar was making an announcement of his candidates indicating he will not join the Congress NCP alliance. NCP leader Ajit Pawar said that they were ready to leave four seats to Ambedkar, however, his intention was to support the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and hence, denied to join their hands.
