Aiming to reach Congress agenda to the people before the Lok Sabha polls, its youth wing reached to almost one crore voters during the last 25 days across the state under their ‘Chalo Panchayat Abhiyan’. The youth Congress promises to begin allowance to the unemployed youths on the line of Chhattisgargh and Madhya Pradesh, if the Congress is voted to the power. Satyajeet Tambe, state president of the Youth Congress claimed 95 per cent people are disappointed with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government. “We have started the ‘Chalo Panchayat Abhiyan’ in villages and ‘Chalo Ward Abhiyan’ in cities across the state. We have targetted to reach 30,000 villages and all cities before the election code of conduct be imposed. However, we have shortlisted a number of villages though a short period has remained in our hands.” Tambe added, till Sunday, the youth Congress has reached to more than one crore people from more than 3000 villages and by the end of the first week of March, they will cross 10,000 villages .“I personally travelled more than 40,000 kilometres during this Abhiyan. I spoke with several people, especially with youths. We ask people to fill up the form which we provided. They have to give information on 10 various points. The answers indicate the direction of political winds,” said Tambe and added, “Based on a database available with us, 95 per cent people are against the BJP. Cong is filling up questionnaires based on poll promises given by the BJP. The Congress has termed it as ‘reality check’. The questions included whether the BJP government will bring the Lok Pal system to stop corruption?, Has the BJP given jobs to two crore youths? Has the prices of diesel and petrol reduced in comparison to prices in 2014? Will the BJP government built 100 smart cities? Will the government give 50 per cent Fare Remuneration Price to the produce more than that of production cost? More questions based on Mudra loan, black money, Nirbhaya incident and terrosim.
