Waited too long Petition made to Supreme Court by the Union Govt to return 67 acres undisputed land within the vicinity of Sri Ram Janmabhoom­i in Ayodhya has been tirade by the Congress Party. It contented that BJP got enlightenm­ent after 16 years. Its intention is to polarise Hindu votes by keeping eyes ahead of Lok Sabha poll. It should have knocked the door of apex court long back. Why did it wait 16 years long period? — Sridhar V Kulkarni Forced to choose My cable operator has left a brochure wherein there are various packages of channels. However, I am given to understand that only if I agree to subscribe to a particular package only then I can choose other channels of my choice. The package which I am supposed to compulsori­ly opt for is a package from which I have never watched a single channel nor will I ever watch any of those channels. It is, therefore, nothing but a gun on my head and in reality there is no choice for the consumer/viewer. Have patience — Behram Aga So what if Train 18 ran into trouble. The most luxurious of trains and cars built by foreign countries, China included, have been hit by snags and more. The media and politician­s there have full confidence in their own technical people and the sincerity of purpose of their rulers when other countries are watching. Here, in India, knives are out, the moment something new goes wrong. India requires world class trains, and the government's zeal in going ahead with many such projects should not waver an inch. — Ganapathi Bhat
