Get whatever you want

Apediatrician once told me: “On the average a child will fall over 240 times before succeeding to stand up. Nature whispers to the child not to quit because if it quits, it will only fail.”

Even after several falls, the child does not get disheartened or disappointed but continues to overcome the failure.”

When I asked him about adulthood he replied: “This conviction of overcoming failure gets atrophied in most people. But successful people with a strong self-image accept the process of failure because they know that at the end of the rainbow there is that pot of gold. This ability to accept that failure is not the end but part of the journey is an essential ingredient of success.”

Goran Kropp of Sweden conceived an idea in 1991, of travelling to Nepal to climb Mount Everest without oxygen and return home the same route. He started his physical training with the Swedish cross-country sking team in order to strengthen his cardio-vascular ca

pacity! On a specially built bike, he set out on the expedition on 16th October, 1995. He had to carry a staggering 129 kg of equipment all by himself.

After four months and six days he arrived at Kathmandu, the capital of Neptal. He set about moving his equipment towards the base camp. The load could be moved only fifty metres at a time with a ten-minute rest in between.

For the first time since he visualised the project he began to doubt his ability to achieve what he intended. But since he was midway, he went ahead with the most gruelling physical experience of his life!

He succeeded in reaching the summit on his third attempt. He climbed down the same route and cycled back the 12000 kms to Sweden.

He reached home one year and eight days after leaving it. When you have a firm goal and a firm resolve, you don’t waver. And when you waver, your passion and purpose keep you on track!
