BAPPI GOES GAGA

-

FPJ BUREAU: Hmm, so what is Bappi Lahiri, the 'bling' baba of music, humming lately? The buzz is, possibly a raga with (lady) Gaga. You read that right. Yes, two duets, with her singing in English and him in his distinguished Hindi.

The first hint of the creative collaboration was dropped by Lady Gaga on Sunday, when she tweeted a Sanskrit shloka, 'Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu (Let the world be happy)'. The world reciprocated with 9,500 replies, 36,000 retweets and more than a 1.4 million likes. (Incidentally, the singer is recuperating after suffering a nasty fall during a recent concert in Las Vegas.)

Bappi has also recorded for Akon. On his Instagram account, he posted a video of the Martinez Brothers and said, “Make sure you all pick up that new release… An amazing remix by Jamie Jones, a tribute to my song and a very interesting name, #bappiedit.”

Jamie Jones, a Welsh DJ and producer, is famous for his work like House, Deep House, Tech House and Techno music. Along with disco jockey duo The Martinez Brothers, both have come together for this track, called BAPPI.

As for the eccentric Lady, she has crooned beautiful numbers like Alejandro, Papparazi, You and I, Bad Romance and more.

With her outlandish style of dressing, which includes false furs, topped by her silver, purple and green-coloured mane, Lady Gaga oozes oomph, ask her diehard fans. With her lead role in the recent avatar of ‘A Star Is Born’ with Bradley Cooper, she displayed some serious acting chops.
