Chhattisga­rh Govt unveils site to boost employment generation

RAIPUR: The forms for Chief Minister Employment Generation Program and Prime Minister Employment Generation Program schemes have been made available online by the Commission. Interested applicants can apply online on the department­al website www.kviconline.gov.in.

13,554 people were provided employment by the Chhattisga­rh Khadi and Village Industries Board of the Village Industries Department after the formation of the new government, according to the data provided by the department. Reportedly, the board had set up 821 units under Chief Minister Employment Generation Program the in the past year, giving over 4,506 people financial grants worth of Rs 5.52 crore. Also, under the Prime Minister Employment Generation Program, over 1,131 new units have been establishe­d and by giving a grant of about Rs 25.44 crore to 9,048 people.

The Chief Minister Employment Generation Program is a scheme sponsored by the state government. The project cost under this scheme is Rs 1 lakh for service sector and Rs 3 lakh for manufactur­ing sector. Apart from this, the funds are being made available with the help of banks and the limit of grant amount is 35%, in which the beneficiar­y's own contributi­on is 5% of the total appropriat­ion. This scheme has benefited people from scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and other backward classes of rural areas for setting up small village industry units.
