12 Tablighi members +ve; 538 are in 13 Raj dists
12 members of the Tablighi Jamaat who were part of the Nizamuddin Markaz have tested positive in Rajasthan. 7 of them are from Churu, 4 from Tonk and 1 from Alwar. The state government has confirmed the presence of 538 persons who attended the Nizamuddin Markaz in 13 Rajasthan’s districts. Till now, 400 have been traced, quarantined and their samples taken. Intensive efforts have been launched to find the remaining.
The 13 districts where these members of the Tablighi Jamaat who were part of the Nizamuddin Markaz have been traced are Jaipur, Jhunjhunu, Bikaner, Dausa, Alwar, Tonk Sriganganagar, Bharatpur, Karauli, Jodhpur, Barmer, Hanumangarh and Churu.
Confirming the numbers, state health minister Dr Raghu Sharma, “We received intelligence inputs about 538 persons of the Tablighi Jamaat who were part of the Nizamuddin Markaj being in the state. Of them, 5 are foreigners, 350 from other states and 183 are Rajasthanis. The health dept has sounded an alert. All district collectors have been informed about them. Teams are tracing them and will quarantine and screen them.”
Providing further details Rajeev Swaroop ACS Home said, “450 people have been tracked down and quarantined. Their medical examinations are going on. The rest are being traced. I appeal to all people of the state to immediately inform the administration if they have any information about any person coming from there.”
