Jaipur witnessed a huge spike in the number as 13 more patients tested positive on Wednesday. All belong to the Ramganj area of the Walled City and are contacts of the person who first tested positive in the area. The area is under curfew and surveillance is done by drones to prevent people from getting out of their homes and even on roofs.

Total 14 persons tested positive in Rajasthan taking the statewide count to 90. A 56year-old male from Jodhpur tested positive and has been admitted to MDM Hospital. The person does not have any travel history or any contact history with anyone positive. The medical and health department is investigating the source of infection. One more evacuee from Iran, a 61year-old woman tested positive. This takes total number of positive evacuees from Iraq to 18. The cumulative number of positives in the state has reached 108.

Meanwhile the Walled City of Jaipur continues to be under curfew and strict lockdown. Movement in and out the area has been severely restricted. The vehicles entering the city are being sanitised by fire brigades. The entire area is being monitored by drones and strict vigil is being maintained that people do not go out or even on their roofs.

Rajasthan Health Minister Dr Raghu Sharma said, “While there has been an increase in number the news that gives relief is 19 people who were positive have now become negative. 15 have been discharged. 13 of them are from Bhilwara alone.”

DGP of Rajasthan Bhupendra Singh Yadav urged the people, “The lockdown is for your benefit. Please follow all instructions. They are for you safety and health.”
