CORPORATE GALLERY: INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY 2020 CELEBRATIONS
HUDCO
Housing and Urban Development Corporation Ltd. (HUDCO), organized a Webinar on ‘ AYUSH for Holistic Healthcare during COVID Outbreak”, to mark the 6th International Yoga Day. The Chief Guest Durga Shanker Mishra Secretary, MOHUA stressed the benefits of traditional Indian medicine systems in boosting immunity and promoting wellbeing by achieving a healthy balance between mind and body. Further, he highlighted the revival of these systems, which have been an integral part of Indian culture, and now their global acceptance. M. Nagaraj, CMD HUDCO shared information about the sanitation/ social distancing/ health care measures taken by HUDCO to ensure a safe working environment.

International Yoga Day was celebrated at BPCL virtually, with D. Rajkumar C&MD, BPCL, leading the BPCL team by per forming yoga asanas and meditation from his home – the theme of the International Yoga day being “Yoga at Home and Yoga with family”. On this Occasion, he was joined by Arun Singh Director (M), N. Vijayagopal Director (F), Sunil Jain, CVO and other senior officials from their home. A plethora of initiatives were undertaken at BPCL on this momentous occasion. A talk on BPCL Radio platform BPC TARANG by Nrapendra Singh Manager (Sales) LPG, who is an Yoga expert and a practitioner, was organised on “Yoga and its effectiveness on our well being”.
Standing Conference of Public Enterprises
Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE), an apex body of Public Sector, held a virtual yoga session commemorating the 6th International Yoga Day on the theme ‘Yoga at Home and Yoga with Family.’ Atul Sobti DG, SCOPE addressed the participants and emphasised that amidst these uncertain present times, practicing yoga can help achieve a fine balance in one’s life by creating harmony of mind, body and soul and therefore it should not be confined to a single day but be practiced regularly. Yoga Acharya Saurav Sameer of Holistic Yoga took the participants through several yoga and meditation practices to accentuate their health. SCOPE as part of employee welfare continues to organise regular yoga sessions.

Central Railway Mumbai
The 6th International Day of Yoga was observed on Central Railway in a non-congregative way in the respective homes of participants and with their family. Sanjeev Mittal, General Manager, Central Railway, Relly Mittal, President, Central Railway Women's Welfare Organisation and family practiced yoga at their home. He also extended his wishes to the railwaymen and said that Yoga is globally accepted as a stress reliever and practicing has a positive impact on general health and immunity enhancement. The art of practicing yoga helps in controlling an individual’s mind, body and soul. It is a way of living that aims towards ‘a healthy mind in a healthy body’. He also said that practicing yoga will help us to stay fit and build a healthy nation. HQ Officers and staff also observed the day by practicing yoga at their residences.
NHPC
NHPC Limited, celebrated the 6th International Day of Yoga across all its Power Stations, Projects and Regional Offices with full enthusiasm on 21st June 2020. The International Day of Yoga 2020 was observed through electronic and digital platforms following ‘Yoga at home, Yoga with Family’ theme in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. During the celebrations, A.K. Singh, CMD, NHPC along with his family members participated in a mass online Yoga session in synchronization with nationwide live telecast of demonstration of Common Yoga Protocol by Doordarshan from 7:00 am to 7:45 am. Senior officers, employees and their family members also participated in the Yoga session through video conferencing. A.K. Singh said, “Yoga is ver y beneficial for overall development of mind and body”. He further added, “Yoga has especially become more relevant in the current COVID-19 crisis as it helps in building immunity and also benefits respirator y system.”

International Day of Yoga, is celebrated annually on 21 June since its inception in 2015. The 6th International yoga day was observed and celebrated across the various locations of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited. In order to maintain the norms of social distancing to protect the employees from Covid-19 pandemic, ‘Yoga at home’ was promoted widely. Led by Chairman and Managing Director along with other functional directors, an online yoga session was conducted under the guidance of professional yoga instructor. Large number of employees and their families participated in the session. Yoga sessions were also conducted at various retail outlets, plants and offices across the organization.
NFL
National Fertilizers Limited observed the 6th International Yoga Day on 21st June, 2020 wherein all the employees participated by following this year ’s theme ‘Yoga at home and Yoga with family’. V. N. Datt, C&MD, NFL participated in the event from home and urged ever yone to make yoga and pranayama part of their life.
South Eastern Railway
South Eastern Railway observed the International Day of Yoga, with great enthusiasm. All staff and officers of South Eastern Railway celebrated the Day by practising Yoga from their homes with family members to avoid mass gathering. The International Day of Yoga was also observed at Stations and railway premises at Divisions over South Eastern Railway by maintaining social distancing and health protocols in the wake of Covid-19. Yoga is good for community, immunity and unity. In the midst of Corona Crisis, Yoga has assumed even greater importance as it helps strengthen the respiratory system. Railway men need to work in various stressful situations and Yoga can help them to be more relaxed and make them more responsible, energetic & enthusiastic. Yoga practice provides a sense of relaxation and a fresh energy to devote to worka more.
Western Railway
International Day of Yoga was celebrated on 21st June, 2020 over Western Railway with this year ’s theme – “Yoga at Home with Family” amidst the background of Corona pandemic by encouraging sessions at home or at work places by observing all protocols of social distancing. This supreme mind-body discipline and gaiety was observed at all the six Divisions, Workshop Units, Railway colonies &Railway institutes etc. At W.Rly’s Headquarters, the event of International Yoga Day was presided over by Alok Kansal -General Manager of Western Railway, who motivated the employees with his inspirational address and set an example by per forming &demonstrating various Yogasanas.

In an exemplary display of grit and determination, women corona warriors in Central Railways, play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the locals for the essential staff during coronavirus pandemic. Motorwomen, Guard, Railway Protection Force personnel, Station Manager, Booking Clerk, Ticket Checking Staff, Women involved in maintenance activities like OHE, Track, Signal & Telecommunications, Rolling stock etc, Points women, Medical , Sanitizing worker are the frontline staff come in direct contact while working the local trains.
GM/WR reviewes progress of private freight terminals
Af ter Unlock 1.0 announced by the Govt. of India, Western Railway took to conducting its first ever freight customer web conference through video link on 6th June, 2020. Continuing in this series, Alok Kansal - General Manager of Western Railway, organised a second video conference on 20th June, 2020 with the Heads of Private Freight Terminal/Private Siding customers for reviewing the progress of PFTs and Sidings targeted for commissioning in the current financial year 20202021. This video conference was a special initiative by GM Kansal to bring all stakeholders at one platform and to resolve issues on real time basis. The online meeting was attended by top executives of these PFTs and Sidings and by the concerned Principal Heads of Depts. of Western Railway along with other senior officers.
