Govt jobs in MP only for locals: CM Chouhan

- /

Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday said necessary legal provisions will be made to ensure only MP localites get state government jobs. Also, the state’s resources are meant for its residents.

“The state (BJP) government has taken an important decision today that government jobs will be given only to youths of MP. We are making necessary legal provisions for this purpose. Resources of MP are meant for children of the state,” Chouhan said in a video briefing.

A statement said students of the state will be taken in govt services and “necessary statutory provisions will be made to ensure this’.

Interestingly, the earlier

Kamal Nath govt had made announcement of reserving

70% jobs in industrial units for locals. Reacting to the CM Chouhan’s announcement, Nath, the state Congress chief, said, “Students and youths of the state should not be cheated again as had happened during the earlier

15-year stints of the BJP.”

The move is seen as an attempt to woo the voters in view of the forthcoming Assembly bypoll to be held on 27 seats; 25 of which fell vacant after the sitting MLAs resigned earlier this year while 2 MLAs had passed away.

Nath asked the government to make public the number of youths the BJP provided jobs to during its 15-year rule.

Commenting on the development, senior Congress leader and former CM Digvijaya Singh said in a tweet, “Thank you for conceding my demand, Shivraj ji. But how to trust you till the issuance of government order in this regard? For what (you were) waiting for 15 years? You marred the rights of thousands of promising youths of Madhya Pradesh. Who is responsible for the corruption of Vyapam (job scam)? You and only you.”

Hailing the decision, the BJP dubbed it a “historic step”. “In MP, only the children and youth of the state will get government jobs, and we thank the state government and CM for this. This decision has led to immense enthusiasm among the youth and children of the state,” BJP state chief Vishnu Dutt Sharma said.

From today, the children of Madhya Pradesh will have the first right over the resources of Madhya Pradesh. All government jobs will be reser ved only for the children of Madhya Pradesh. Our aim is to involve the local talents in the upliftment of the state.
