3 scribes booked for children’s plight report 8 killed, 4 injured in Rajasthan road mishap

KANPUR: 3 journalist­s working at a news channel were accused of public mischief and criminal intimidati­on in an FIR filed against them for airing a news report on school children allegedly exercising in biting cold conditions without winter wear at a government function here, a police official said. The FIR lodged by a Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA), an official who takes care of primary education in govt schools, accused the journalist­s of threatenin­g him. "The case was registered on Tuesday against 3 journalist­s — Mohit, Amit and Yasin on complaint off Basic Siksha Adhikari (BSA) Sunit Dutt at Akbarpur police station of Kanpur Dehat under IPC Sections 505 (statements conducing to public mischief) and 506 (criminal intimidati­on),” SHO (Akbarpur), Tulsiram Pandey, said.

TONK: 8 people of a family were killed while 4 others injured af ter a vehicle they were travelling in rammed into a truck in Rajasthan's Tonk on early Wednesday. The vehicle was carrying 14 people of a family belonging to Madhya Pradesh and returning af ter visiting Khatushyam temple in state. "A family was returning to Madhya Pradesh in a car af ter visiting Khatushyam temple. Last night, a trolley hit the car of the family due to which eight people had died on the spot while others were injured. Of the deceased, 4 were men, 2 women and 2 children. The SP, SDM and others reached the spot and admitted them to hospital. The injured were later referred to Jaipur,” Chandra Singh Rawat DSP Tonk told reporters. CM Ashok Gehlot expressed grief over the incident which claimed many lives of a family.
