Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) celebrated India’s 72nd Republic Day with fervor and passion, following all the preventive measures amended by the Ministr y of Home Affairs and the Ministr y of Health & Family Welfare in wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. The JNPort family participat­ed in the celebratio­ns held at the JNPT Training Centre. On arrival of the Chief Guest, Sanjay Sethi, IAS, Chairman, an impressive Guard of Honour was presented by the CISF officials. The celebratio­n then started with flag hoisting by the Chief Guest, followed by singing of the National Anthem in the presence of Unmesh Sharad Wagh, IRS, Dy. Chairman, Anil S Ramteke, IRSS,CVO and HoDs. ‘Navratna CPSE NALCO joined the nation in celebratin­g the 72nd Republic Day. Sridhar Patra, CMD unfurled the National Flag at its corporate headquarte­rs in Bhubaneswa­r. The ceremony was held following COVID-19 guidelines and the event was live streamed through the social media handles of the company. Sridhar Patra, CMD said that, “When the whole world was passing through lockdowns and shutdowns, Nalconians were putting in all their effort at optimizing the production and productivi­ty and the result is there for all to see. From a modest profit in the first quarter, we are all set to bounce back with renewed vigour by the end of this financial year. Proper strategic initiative­s, raw material planning, course correction­s and collective determinat­ion have made it possible to successful­ly sail against all odds”.
