Western Railway Rail Wheel Factory

The dawn of 72nd Republic Day of our nation was marked on Western Railway with flag hoisting by Alok Kansal -General Manager of Western Railway. He also inspected the ceremonial parade at WR HQs at Churchgate and took salute of the Marchpast. Kansal addressed the gathering by extending his greetings to the Railwaymen and their families. He also appealed them to accept challenges & convert them into opportunities. At the start of the ceremony, P C Sinha – Principal Chief Security Commissioner of W. Rly welcomed General Manager Alok Kansal. Tanuja Kansal – President of Western Railway’s Women Welfare Organization along with various Principal Heads of Departments and other senior railway officers were also present on this occasion. 72nd Republic Day was celebrated at Rail Wheel Factor y Stadium with great enthusiasm. Rajiv Kumar Vyas, General Manager, unfurled the National Flag and addressed the gathering. Remembering the sacrifices of our great leaders, he remarked that; with the countr y’s rising industrial transformation, RWF has not only contributed in terms of production of railway wheels, axles and wheel-sets; but also in the social and economic well being of its staff and families. In his speech, he referred that Rail Wheel Factory has come a long way during last 41 glorious years from the period when the Indian Railways was importing more than 55% of total requirement of wheels for the Railways. Rail Wheel Factor y has grown over a period of time to manufacture various types of Wheels, Axles and Wheel-sets as per requirement of the customers, thereby substantially contributing to ‘ Make in India’ and Atma Nirbhar Bharat policy of Government of India.
