Rathod attends cabinet meeting

A day af ter show of his strength, Shiv Sena Minister Sanjay Rathod, who has denied links with Tik Tok star Pooja Chavan’ suicide, on Wednesday attended the cabinet meeting chaired by the Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. However, Rathod has not resigned from the council of ministers.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has stepped up attack against the Shiv Sena-led Maha Vikas Aghadi government and particular­ly against the CM for shielding Rathod. It has demanded the removal of Rathod from the cabinet and that the investigat­ion should be taken away from the Pune Police as they are allegedly working under pressure. Meanwhile, CM Uddhav Thackeray will not spare anyone and law will take its course in connection with a gathering of people outside a temple in Washim in violation of COVID19 norms, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said on Wednesday. Raut made the remarks while talking to reporters here, a day af ter a huge gathering was witnessed near Pohradevi Temple in Washim district when Maharashtr­a Forest Minister and Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Rathod visited the shrine. Scores of people gathered near the temple, following which the chief minister issued instructio­ns to take action in connection with the gathering. However, NCP Minister Nawab Malik said that the CM has already given orders to probe the reason behind the gathering, whether any leader, political party or minister had appealed (the people) to come together."

"It’s report will come from the Superinten­dent of Police," Malik said.
