FC Goa seek maiden ACL win

MARGAO: Already out of reckoning for a knock-out berth, FC Goa will seek their maiden win in the AFC Champions League (ACL) in their last Group E match against Al Wahda of the UAE here on Thursday. NEW DELHI: Indian Olympic Associatio­n vice-president Janardhan Singh Gehlot died in Jaipur on Wednesday af ter prolonged illness. Gehlot, a former Rajasthan minister, was also the founder president of Internatio­nal Kabaddi Federation. He was in his 70s.

ASBC Asian Boxing C'ships shifted to Dubai

NEW DELHI: In the wake of internatio­nal travel restrictio­ns to India, the Boxing Federation of India (BFI), in consultati­on with Asian Boxing Confederat­ion (ASBC), on Wednesday decided to conduct the upcoming 2021 edition of the ASBC Asian Elite Men and Women Boxing Championsh­ips in Dubai. The event will now be organised by BFI in associatio­n with UAE Boxing Federation.

Indian fencers fail to qualify for Olympics

NEW DELHI: National fencing squad's hopes of earning an Olympic Games quota place ended at the quarter final stage of the Asian Olympic qualifier tournament held in Tashkent. The two-day tournament, held last weekend, offered six quota places, including three in the women's categor y.

Zoysa banned for 6-year for breaching ACC

COLOMBO: Former Sri Lanka player and coach Nuwan Zoysa has been banned from all cricket for six years af ter the Internatio­nal Cricket Council's (ICC) Anti-Corruption Tribunal found him guilty of breaching the ICC Anti-Corruption Code. The ban for Zoysa is backdated to October 31, 2018, when he was provisiona­lly suspended.

Kroenke says committed to Arsenal

LONDON: Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke said he is "100% committed" to the Premier League club and will not be selling amid interest from the founder of music streaming service Spotify.
