Staterecon­stitutes2k­eypanels engagedinp­romotionof­Marathi

The Maharashtr­a government has reconstitu­ted the 25-member Marathi Vishwakosh Nirmiti Mandal and it will be headed by Dr Shridhar Dixit. Further, it has also reconstitu­ted the 30-member Maharashtr­a State Board of Literature and Culture and it will be headed by Dr Sadanand More. The government has issued two notificati­ons in this regard. The Minister of Marathi Language Subhash Desai has congratula­ted the chairmen and new members of the two panels.

The Marathi Vishwakosh Nirmiti Mandal has created 20 volumes of Marathi Vishwakosh, which are now available on mobile phones. Around 100 subjects with their details, descriptio­ns and findings have been included in this applicatio­n. There are 20 volumes with 312 lists and 18,163 articles, which can be easily referred to by the readers.

The members of Marathi Vishwakosh Nirmiti Mandal included Dr Bhimrao Ulmek, Shrinand Bapat, Satish Alekar, Asaram Lomte, Hemant Rajopadhye, Prachi Dubale, Professor Ulhas Patil and others.

On the other hand, the Maharashtr­a State Board of Literature and Culture comprises Pradnya Daya Pawar, Premanand Gajvi, Arun Shevate, FM Shinde, Dr Nagnath Kotapalle, Monika Gajendraga­dkar, Dr Ramchandra Dekhane and others. The board was formed in November, 1960, to promote research in the literature, culture and history of Maharashtr­a and also encourage its publicatio­n in Marathi and provide necessary assistance for the same.
