Will not make defamatory statements against Salman Khan: Kamaal R Khan

- Staff Reporter

After actor Salman Khan and his production company filed a defamation suit before a city civil court claiming damages of Rs. 90 lakh from former Big Boss contestant and actor Kamaal R. Khan for defamation, the latter told the court on Thursday that he will not make defamatory remarks on Salman Khan on social media platforms till 7 June - the next date of hearing.

Salman Khan has made social media platforms Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube as well as Google defendants in the suit for publishing the content. His counsel Pradeep Gandhy on Thursday sought ad-interim relief before the court in the form of an injunction against Kamaal Khan from making defamatory remarks against the actor on social media. Appearing for Kamaal Khan, advocate Manoj Gadkari submitted that his client will not put any remarks of a defamatory nature against the actor till the next date. Additional Sessions judge RM Sadrani took the submission into consideration while granting the relief. The matter was adjourned to 7 June, till when the relief stands valid.

While Kamaal R Khan had claimed over social media that he was sued due to his critical review of Salman Khan’s film Radhe, the latter’s law firm released a statement in which it negated this. It said that the suit has been filed because the defendant has been publishing and endorsing defamatory allegations that Salman Khan is corrupt. He has also alleged that Khan and his brand ‘Being Human’ are involved in fraud, manipulation and money laundering transactions. -
