To take the BJP head on, TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee on Monday said the Trinamool Congress has already chalked out a plan to make foray into the ‘national politics’, and within a month they will lay their plans.

“After winning the West Bengal poll, we have received over a lakh messages from across the country with everyone saying only Mamata Banerjee can defeat BJP. We have made our plans to make inroads into other states too to take on the BJP. We will not contest to increase vote percentage but to win in other states,” said the nephew of CM Mamata Banerjee.

Reacting to BJP’s jibe of ‘dynasty’ politics, the TMC MP urged the BJP-led Central government to pass a bill stating one member from a family can only join politics. “They (BJP) have the numbers so they should pass the bill. I promise I will resign on the day the bill is passed. Practise what you preach. Can Jay Shah come out and give up his BCCI post? They are miffed about my appointment. Sometimes a dynasty is better than being nasty. The BJP is importing dynastic turncoats,” Abhishek claimed.

Notably, during the poll campaigns, PM Modi, Home Minister Shah and other central leaders lambasted the ‘dynasty’ politics of the aunt-nephew Banerjees.

Clearing the air on jibes from other political parties, the new national general secretary of the ruling Trinamool said in TMC the only command is party’s supremo Mamata Banerjee and he is not the second in command.

Claiming he is not interested in any ministerial post, Abhishek slammed the BJP for allegedly politicising even the Election Commission, along with Central agencies, during the recent Assembly poll.
