Now, BJP-TMC clash over Assam

- ARITRA SINGHA / Kolkata

A new slugfest has started between Assam Chief Minister Hemant Biswa Sarma and the TMC after the former said that the TMC will make way for BJP to win in polls. “TMC and Congress will cut each other’s votes and will make way for BJP to win the polls. TMC is welcome to open their chapter in Assam,” said Biswasharma.

Notably, claiming that Didi had done excellent work in West Bengal and had courage, former Congress MP Sushmita Dev had joined TMC on August 16. According to TMC sources, Sushmita will be given charge of Assam and Tripura.

TMC spokesperson and West Bengal general secretary Kunal Ghosh slammed the Assam CM and said that the BJP should take lessons from Bengal. “The landslide victory in West Bengal clearly shows that people don’t want BJP anymore for which the TMC had made a landslide victory. BJP will be wiped out soon from every state,” claimed Kunal adding that after West Bengal TMC will form government in Tripura and also in Assam.

Khela Hobe, now theme for Durga Puja

After creating political waves across West Bengal, the slogan Khela Hobe now becomes the theme for the Durga Puja at Mamata Banerjee's home constituency Bhawanipore.

Amidst BJP’s claim that this chant is ‘violent’ and ‘a ploy to kill opposition’, the ‘Khela Hobe’ (Game is on) chant even reached the national capital and Tripura.

Artist-cum-fashion designer Soumen Ghosh said that Khela Hobe theme has nothing to do with politics and on the contrary it is meant for the upliftment of different games. “In ancient times people used to carry the idol on their shoulders and there used to be guards during the processions. This time we have planned to make two epic football teams Mohun Bagan and East Bengal as people carrying the idol from field to pandal and gold winner in javelin Neeraj Chopra’s face will be given to the guard leading the way,” said Soumen.
