Mastermind will be exposed, police to file report: Dy CM
Ajit Pawar says media was seen with the protestors, even though the police didn’t seem to have information
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Saturday said a probe has been ordered to find out who masterminded the MSRTC protest outside NCP chief Sharad Pawar’s residence. He said, “Media was seen there, which means the media had the information. But why did the police not gather all of this information? This will also be probed.” He added that he should not be casting aspersions on political hand behind it till the police report is filed.
However, Pawar, who is NCP chief’s nephew, claimed that a lot of things have come to the fore including the fact that most protestors were from well-to-do families. “However, I will make the statement in this regard only after the findings of the probe,” he said.
Pawar said, “It simply came to our notice that after the Bombay High Court order, colours were hurled and sweets were distributed by the striking MSRTC employees at Azad Maidan as a mark of success of their agitation. Then there was no reason to go to Silver Oak (Sharad Pawar’s residence) again. What is the reason behind it? One of them said that he will go to Baramati on April 12.” He added that the deliberations generally
take place at Mantralaya and, therefore, there was no need for the striking employees to go to Silver Oak.
Pawar clarified that the government was stubborn towards employees’ demands, but made sure that they got their salary by the 10th of every month. He added that the government attempted to bring at par the salaries of employees with the adjoining states.
Meanwhile, the NCP, across the state, staged a sitin dharna to condemn the attack. State unit chief Jayant Patil led the agitation at Sangli, social welfare minister Dhananjay Munde at Beed and housing minister Jitendra Awhad at Thane.
