In this film, definitely, you will get to watch different kinds of action. In there was a lot of but in this, it’s a story which your children can also watch as there is not much violence and bloodshed. In every frame, you will note that the action is aesthetic and artistic.

How comfortabl­e were you working with Tara, Nawaz and Ahmed?

I’m comfortabl­e working with all three. I have a good equation with Tara and Nawaz sir. If you are comfortabl­e with your co-stars, work gets completed at a fast pace. We finished most of our scenes in just two takes.

You are singing in this film. How did it all come about?

Sajid sir and Ahmed sir suggested that I sing in this film. He shared my singles with AR Rahman saab. He was impressed, and he felt I could sing. I was nervous singing with such a huge legend, but the rest is history. he trailer launch of the Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani-starrer

took place on April 26. It is not a sequel to the 2007 film which had Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan in pivotal roles. Directed by Anees Bazmee, the film will release on May 20. The Free Press Journal caught up with the upcoming film’s team during the event.

Kartik, who is headlining the film, is seen dancing to some catchy dance steps in the trailer. When asked if his dance steps will get popular like

How do you feel about social media comments?

I read the comments definitely, as I get to learn a lot from them. I appreciate comments which are constructi­ve criticism. We need to differenti­ate those comments. I try to evaluate and understand if it is hate or not. Actually, when somebody is imparting constructi­ve criticism, we try to take it positively.

What frightens you in life? What genres of film do you like to watch?

I get frightened of injections and also can’t watch horror movies. I don’t like gore and gruesome action. I watched horror movies, but I hid my eyes with my palms and watched. I love fun and comedy action.

So, how did you take the Covid-19 vaccinatio­n injections?

Taking Covid-19 injections was also very challengin­g. We had to get injected as I had to travel for shooting.

What did you do during the lockdown phase?

During the lockdown, my gym was shut down, so I was not getting any chance to go out and train. I started singing classes. The entire industry had organised a concert on Zoom. Karan (Johar) sir told me to sing as he had watched a singing video of mine on Instagram, and he thought I sang well. I sang a number from the film and received a lot of love and appreciati­on. in the film,” Kartik explains. While Priyadarsh­an helmed Anees is directing and he reveals that it has a solid storyline. “This film is very special since audiences gave so much love to the first part. When (producers) Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani came to me with the second instalment, I was very nervous as a writer-director, but it’s a fantastic script. The task for making such a film is we can’t make the exact film, and if we won’t make a film a bit closer to the original film, then audiences don’t like it. I hope people will like it,” he says. When we further probed him about getting Akshay and Vidya Balan for a cameo in the second part, Anees avers, “Akshay and Vidya are phenomenal actors, and I wish I could get them, but the script didn’t allow that. Except for Rajpal Yadav, we have got a new cast.”

The film’s leading lady Kiara has been called ‘dreamgirl’ by her fans. “It’s a huge comment for me since I have grown up watching Hema Maliniji. She is the epitome of beauty and grace, but this name was given to me by my fans. I feel humbled and overwhelme­d,” she shares. Kiara is confident that the film will make a place of its own. was the first-ever horror comedy I saw back then, and it is perhaps the best film in the genre. We are not attempting anything Akshay sir or Vidya ma’am had done. We are doing our own new thing. It is a franchise and not a remake, so there’s no pressure at all,” she concludes.
