The BJP government in Uttarakhand has completed one year under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. The government has kept manifesto promises and took important decisions during the period.
The chief minister has ushered in a new work culture by adopting the motto of 'Vikalp Rahit Sankalp', to make Uttarakhand the best state in the country by 2025.
In the past year, the government has demonstrated determination and dedication to ensure state's continued progress. A number of government initiatives are likely to serve as a watershed moment in Uttarakhand's development, sources said.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami took a vital step towards fulfilling pre-election promise of implementing the 'Uniform Civil Code' in the very first cabinet meeting. A committee of experts was formed to oversee its implementation. The expert committee is working on a draft code for Uttarakhand.
Fight against corruption
Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Uttarakhand is rapidly progressing on the path of development. Throughout this one-year journey, we have taken numerous crucial decisions. We also kept the promises we made before the election. Today, Uttarakhand is starting a new chapter in its development story. We are also committed to generating income for the common man by promoting agriculture and horticulture, as historical work is being done in the direction of rail, road, and air connectivity in the mountains. —Pushkar Singh Dhami,

The budget session was held in the state’s summer capital, during March. All important decisions of public interest were taken and the government made it clear that ‘the capital of mountain state should be in the mountain’ was not merely a jumla but was being imbibed in reality.
Gairsain, Important decisions
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday lashed out at the Centre, saying corruption cases have been “closed” against those leaders who switched over to the BJP.
Addressing a public meet at the Jantar Mantar, Kejriwal, who is the Aam Aadmi Party national convener, said he has “no objections” about the posters that were put up against him and that those behind it “should not be arrested”.
“Why is the prime minister so scared? I saw that posters were put up against me and I don't have any problem about —ANI that. There won't be any FIR or arrest. Some people are taking the country towards dictatorship. Together we have to save the country's Constitution and democracy, we have to save the country,” he said.
The chief minister urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to release those who were arrested in connection with the poster that read “Modi Hatao, Desh Bachao”.
Sounding the poll bugle for the 2024 Lok Sabha election, the AAP kickstarted a 'Modi Hatao, Desh Bachao' (Remove Modi, Save the Nation) campaign from the Jantar Mantar here on Thursday.
