PM INAUGURATES METRO, SAYS DEVELOPMENT BJP’S PRIORITY
Saffron party has transformed politics, says Modi
Without naming or directly referring to the allegations levelled by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on the ModiAdani link, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said: “Our country had been mired in dirty politics for years. What prevailed in the country was the politics of allegation and blame game. Since coming to power, the BJP has transformed the 'politics of perception' to ‘politics of performance’ in the country.”
Addressing a well-attended rally at Davanagere in north Karnataka, Modi said the Congress has been playing ‘dirty politics for years’ and the party’s wish is not development. It has a single point agenda. “The party says Modi teri qabar khudegi, but they don't know people of Karnataka have a dream, which is 'Modi tera kamal khilega,” the PM added.
The Congress looks at Karnataka as an ATM that fills its treasury. The grand old party wanders with a “bag of false guarantees” in every election, he said. Beginning his address in Kannada, Modi said
the Karnataka people would bring back the BJP with a thumping majority because of the ‘double engine growth’.
In his eighth visit to the state this month, he addressed the party’s Vijaya Sankalp Yatre Maha Sangama, and said, “Karnataka has decided to bring back the double engine government. Karnataka has seen opportunistic and selfish governments for a long time which has affected the state. That's why BJP's stable government is needed for the development of the state.”
The state has seen unprecedented developmental works under the BJP government and all this would benefit people, he said, adding, “Our (Karnataka) government has been empowering the Dalits, poor, women and the oppressed sections. Ours has been a pro-poor government.”
Earlier, the PM inaugurated the long-awaited 13.71-km
Whitefield-to-Krishnarajapuram Metro Line, which connects major IT parks. Built at `4,249 crore, the line is expected to ease traffic in one of the busiest areas of the city.
Modi rode the train and talked to people from different walks of life, including metro staff, construction workers and students.
Further, Modi inaugurated ‘Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research’ & ‘Sri Sathya Sai Rajeswari Memorial Block’, a totally-free-of-cost medical college and hospital, at Sathya Sai Grama, Muddenahalli in Chikkaballapura.
