NAXALISM WILL BE ELIMINATED FROM CHHATTISGARH: SHAH

- STAFF REPORTER /

Naxalism in Chhattisgarh will be eradicated within two years once the third tenure of Prime Minister comes to office, said Union Minister Amit Shah on Friday.

He was addressing the election public rally at Basic School, Bemetara.

He said the Congress had backed and supported Naxalism to grow in the country. The Prime Minister led government slowly in 10 years had eliminated Naxalism in different parts of the country. Now it exists in and around Chhattisgarh. Within two years, once the BJP government returns, the menace will be eradicated.

After the formation of BJP government in the state, Vishnudeo Sai led government within four months took action in which 90 Naxalites were killed, 123 people arrested and 225 people surrendered.

Mentioning the Saja incident, he said Ishwar Sahu, the father of the deceased (his son) had to face lack of justice but BJP made him the candidate. No one ever thought that he would defeat the veteran Congress leader Ravindra Choubey. The people’s mandate was a reply to the Congress that the appeasement policy will not be accepted.

After the formation of Chhattisgarh, he said the BJP in the last 20 years had developed Chhattisgarh from the status of BIMARU state. BJP had ensured that rice reached the last person through the PDS system, the real value of paddy was given and other benefits were extended. Congress wants to repeal the triple talaq, section 370, implement Sharia laws and other laws. It is following the Muslim League agenda as per its manifesto. The BJP will never let this happen, Shah underlined.

He said Rahul Gandhi had said that once the Article 370 has abrogated, there will be bloodshed in Kashmir during the discussion on the bill. Neither there was bloodshed nor did anyone dare to throw stones on anyone. Advising Congress President Kharge, he said he should criss-cross the country to understand the sentiments of the people. Under the UPA government the terrorist attack was regular but after the air-strike and surgical strike the scenario had changed. He urged the women voters especially to give all the 11 seats of Chhattisgarh to the Prime Minister instead of leaving one or two seats. Last election BJP had got 9 seats and Congress secured two seats. He also spoke on the tenure of Congress led by Bhupesh Baghel for alleged scams.
