- KUMUTHA

Out for a day, enjoying the glorious sun, and we come back home looking like a baked potato. And the nasty tan takes about a week to fully fade, leaving us no option but to walk around with patchy uneven skin tone, trying futilely to hide it under many layers of makeup! And de-tanning products are packed to the brim with chemicals, which do more harm than any good! So, what you need are herbal remedies for tan. When you step out in the sun, without any layers of protection, the UV and UVB layers of the sun can penetrate the epidermis layer of the skin, disrupting the melanin production, which causes the skin to become dark. Getting tanned is the least of your worries, UV rays can potentially damage your skin cells, making you age twice as faster. So, step one, no matter how late you are, never step out without slapping on a suitable sun-block of a good SPF value. Keep a scarf in handy for that added protection.

And for that inevitable tan, here are nine homemade masks that can even out your skin tone in a week or less. Take a look!
