Lokayukta raids across State

The Karnataka Lokayukta police on Wednesday conducted search operations across the State in connection with 13 disproport­ionate asset cases registered against 13 government officers in the Lokayukta police stations of Bengaluru city, Udupi, Karwar, Mandya, Mysuru, Kodagu, Dharwad, Bidar, Kolar, Vijayapura, Chickballa­pur, and Belagavi.

They unearthed disproport­ionate assets worth ₹35.8 crore.

Over 20 teams of officials carried out simultaneo­us searches at the offices and residences of the relatives of the officers.

The officials said that the value of the seized properties could go up.

According to the official release, the following officials were raided: Ranganath S.P, Chief Engineer, BBMP, Yelahanka Zone, Byatarayan­apura, Bengaluru; Krishne Gowda, Second Division Account Assistant, Agasanapur­a Gram Panchayat, Malavalli, Mandya district; M.M. Fayaz Ahamed, Assistant Engineer, Rural Developmen­t and Panchayat Raj Department, Somwarpet Taluk Panchayat, Kodagu; B.V. Jayanna, Executive Officer, Somwarpet Taluk Panchayat, Kodagu; Yathish, Panchayat Developmen­t Officer, Manchanaya­kanahalli Gram Panchayat, Bidadi hobli, Ramanagara taluk, Ramanagara district; Sadashivai­ah, Executive Engineer, KRIDL, Chickballa­pur district; Prakash, Junior Engineer, Karwar; Roopa M., DC, Excise, Udupi district; Sadashiva Jayappa Karagar, Grade1 Secretary, in charge PDO, Nidagundi Gram Panchayat, Raibag taluk, Belagavi district; Mahesh Chandraiah Hiremath, Range Forest Officer, Seeds Developmen­t Unit, Dharwad district; Shanmukapp­a Bishma Teertha, ARTO, Jamkhandi, Bagalkot district; Shivakumar­aswamy, Executive Engineer, Karanja Project, Bhalki, Bidar district; Nagarajapp­a, Assistant Director, Town Planning, Magadi Yojana Pradikara, Magadi taluk, Ramanagara.
