Solution to yesterday’s Sudoku

God undertakes various efforts to retrieve us from the sea of samsara. Sri Muralidhara Swamigal said in a discourse that Azhwars have called Him as a farmer of devotion. Like farmers resorting to one technique or another, He tries to adopt various ways to elevate us.

First, He introduced the Vedas, which deal with matters like the eternal world, good deeds, sinful deeds, births, moksha, and other philosophical contents. If we gather rainwater directly, it will be crystal clear and uncontaminated. It may be contaminated if we collect it through any other medium, such as pipes. Vedas are directly from God and, hence, very pure.

Like a king promulgating orders, the Vedas prescribe specific rules, such as Satyam Vada, Dharmam Chara: speak the truth and follow righteousness. Hence, it is called Raja Samhitha.

It is also called ‘Aamnaayam,’ which denotes deriving knowledge through the blessings of gurus. God has taught the Vedas to Brahma, the God of creation.

Next, Vedantha Vichara raises four points — Acceptance of God; How to reach Him; Whether a person is qualified for the same; What is the ultimate benefit?

In the next stage, He transcended as Lord Rama and Krishna and mingled with people, hiding His supremacy.
